UVC stands for 'USB Video Class'. It defines video streaming functionality on the Universal Serial Bus. UVC compliant peripherals only need a generic driver; much like mass storage devices (USB flash disks, External disc enclosures, etc.) can be managed by a single driver because they conform to the USB Mass Storage specification. Before UVC drivers, video grabber manufacturers had to write and maintain drivers for each of their products on all operating systems they wanted to support. Every time there was an update to a given OS (e.g. Windows XP, Windows 95, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10), these companies would need to test with early beta releases of the OS.

Download drivers for USB2.0 UVC VGA WebCam. Drivers found: 1. To download the drivers, select the appropriate version of driver and supported operating system.
The built image should contain UVC driver support. Switch the USB to host mode (switch SW1 towards USB or away from mini-USB). Reboot the board. Connect the camera to USB host. Camera will be registered as 'video0': /dev/video0. If the UVC driver is added as modular then execute the following command to register camera: $ modprobe uvcvideo.
